Background About GMP Training
This self-paced online course covers various aspects, including general requirements (manufacturing, processing, packing, and holding operations), raw materials, other ingredients, and manufacturing operations. Real-life examples are used to help participants grasp the implementation and enforcement of cGMP (Current Good Manufacturing Practices) requirements in a food processing facility.
Adhering to cGMPs is crucial for ensuring food safety. In September 2015, the FDA modernized the cGMPs and placed them in the new Part 117 (21 CFR Part 117), introducing new requirements for hazard analysis and risk-based preventive controls as part of the FDA Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) implementation. The cGMP regulations cover various aspects, including personal hygiene practices, food plant design and construction, maintenance of plant grounds, equipment, sanitary operations, facility sanitation, and production and process controls during food production.
